What does ClueControl need to run?

The general setup is a computer with Windows (7, 8 or 10) in the control room.

The computer needs 2 monitors – one in the control room and one in the escape room. See below for remote display options.

Optional speakers in the escape room.

Does ClueControl work with ChromeCast?

Yes, but you may want to consider two other options first.

Best option – run a CAT5 cable from your computer to the monitor and then use these HDMI Baluns to reliably connect the computer to the monitor.

Reasonable wireless options – use this Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter.  Purpose build to be a Windows monitor.  Plug it into your monitor, then in Windows open the display settings and hit connect wireless display.

If you have your heart set on ChromeCast, then you need to get an HDMI Dummy Plug to trick Windows into thinking you have a second monitor.  Then you can cast the image of that phantom monitor to ChromeCast.

What do I need to make AutoTrigger work?

AutoTrigger is based on ZWave devices that are cost effective, easy to find and easy to install. The key component is the ZStick that lets ClueControl talk to the ZWave devices. Beyond that, its up to you what you use. We certainly haven’t tested every device in the market, but most should work. If you run into any problems let us know right away and we will get you fixed up.

Here are devices we used for testing and some links to buy them on Amazon. There are way more devices than we can link here. As we test more devices that provide unique functionality, we will add them here.
